Fluffy Lily

Is it a dog? Is it a lion? Perhaps a bear?

Meet Lily, the adorable Chow Chow!

The Chow Chow breed looks like one sturdy, but cuddly, powerful dog with a high set tail and a fluffy coat. A stoic and independent dog breed that is known for it's bear-like appearance and blue-black tongue. Chow chows are not usually  social, outgoing dogs. They tend to be aloof with strangers and can be aggressive with other dogs. But Lily is not a normal Chow, she is a calm dog.  She is an excellent companion. She loves walking with her owner and play after. She goes crazy for it when her fur dad walk her. Lily likes meeting up with other dogs. She gets excited when they go to the dog park,  but as they go in, she lays there watching the other dogs play. She will sit for attention when someone is walking by. Lily is popular in the neighborhood. This beautiful and loyal dog is beloved by many. When she wants her owner's attention,  she will growl at him. When she sees something that is new or shouldn't be there , she will bark at it. Like a jacket hanging on the balcony, she knows it's not normal for that to be there , so she will bark at it. Or a  baseball cap on the table...she don't like that either cause it doesn't belong there. Lily likes carrots and broccoli, but loves cheese the best. She is  a spoiled dog and well loved by her family. Kudos  to her fur dad, for raising a good dog like Lily.

For many of us, dogs are important members of the family. A dog can bring a lot of joy, but they are also a big responsibility. They are not accessories that can be thrown aside and forgotten. Dogs are companions that need love, care and devotion for their whole lives.

Train Your Dog To Wear A Muzzle

A muzzle can be an effective, human tool for managing your dog’s behavior. There are many situations in which your dog may be required to wear a muzzle. Muzzles may be used as a temporary way of managing problem behavior, until a training plan can be developed. There are two types of muzzles: nylon (also referred to as the "groomer's muzzle") and basket. Nylon muzzle  looks more comfortable but they are only appropriate for short periods and under close supervision because your dog will not be able to drink or regulate it's temperature by panting. The best type of muzzle to purchase is a basket muzzle which has holes through which you can feed treats and the dog has enough space to pant.

Train Your Dog To Stop Pulling On Their Leash

Walking with your dog is fun and enjoyable, but what if he's pulling on his leash and acts as a leader and not vice versa? It is one of the most common problem of many dog owners. Dogs pull, in part, because they’re full of excess energy. So before you start to train, play with your dog first to tire him out. A vigorous game of tug will do. Every time your dog gets out of control it is essential that you instantly stop the walk, stand still and wait for him to calm down before continuing. Don't let him go in the direction he wants to go. As soon as the leash loosens, start walking again. When your dog pulls on leash and you continue the walk, you are rewarding him for pulling and lunging. Teaching a dog to walk without pulling requires plenty of rewards, so you will need to carry treats as you train. Whenever your dog is walking politely praise him and give him a treat. If you are consistent with this exercise and don’t give up, your dog will learn that walking politely on his leash means a longer walk. It is a tremendous effort in patience at first but it will pay off if you persevere.

Basic Obedience Puppy Training

Untrained adolescent and adult dogs can become easily distracted by their environment, which is why it’s important to work on coming when called, leash-pulling and impulse-control exercises like “stay,” “leave it” and “sit.” Basic commands not only teach helpful skills, they reinforce your role as your dog's leader. Using treats to lure your dog into the correct position or place, and then to reward him for obeying, is one of the easiest and most dog-friendly methods. Start with an easy command in a familiar place with no distractions. Five or ten minutes is plenty to start with, or you can do many mini-training sessions throughout the day. Your puppy's attention span won't last much longer than that. Teach or practice just one basic command at each session to avoid confusing your pup. Use a hand signal each time you give your puppy a command. Praise your puppy excitedly to help him learn that he did something right.

How To Stop A Dog From Being Greedy

Try to teach some self control around food, such as when you have his meal ready in his bowl (pick the bowl up and get it ready elsewhere), make him sit and stay while you put it down. If he goes for it take it up again and make him sit once more. If you keep doing this he will soon realize he has to sit and wait nicely or the food won't go down. Then you can increase the time he has to wait and introduce a command to eat. As you build up this routine he will be able to sit for as long as you want until you tell ''OK.'' You need to teach the dog you are the boss of his food and make him do a command in order to earn his food. Try feeding him small meals throughout the day, so that large amount cannot be consumed at once. If they get too territorial over the food it could lead to aggression about food later.

Why Dogs Chase Cats

Before people began training and keeping them roughly 12,000 years ago, dogs were wild pack animals that relied mainly on instincts to survive. This instinct is called the ‘prey drive’ and is embedded in all dogs, which makes them want to chase and catch other smaller animals to eat, even after thousand years of domestication.

Dog Breeds That Least Likely To Bite

Golden retrievers and Labrador retrievers are the two breeds least likely to bite. Retrievers have been bred to retrieve water fowl, the animals are bred to have a “soft mouth” that does not damage the hunter’s birds. This “soft mouth” makes the dogs less likely to bite. In addition, both breeds have been described as friendly, sociable, and non-aggressive dogs that are not wary of strangers.
